1. History

Jamae Mosque Singapore, which was built between1826 A.D. and1835 A.D., is the oldest mosque in Singapore.

2. Location

Jamae Mosque Singapore lies at 218 South Bridge Road, in the heart of Chinatown, South of Singapore City. The mosque is on the sidewalk of South Bridge Road which has no porch both in the front and side. The mosque is surrounded by dense Chinese settlement – most of them are two-storey buildings – with no porch and frontage. Such condition is the typical architecture of Chinese and the middle age European settlements.
