Closing Ceremony of Adat Istiadat Workshop
Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam - The initiative of the Chinese community to study and understand the culture as well as the Brunei Malay Adat Istiadat specifically the Adat Istiadat Di-Raja or Royal ceremonies, shows the efforts of the community in instilling the country’s aspirations that strongly adheres to the Malay Islamic Monarchy philosophy. This was mentioned by the Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz in his sabda at the closing ceremony of the Adat Istiadat Workshop Course for officers and teachers of Chung Hwa Middle School, this afternoon.
Yang Amat Mulia in his sabda said such an initiative is vital in forging ties of unity and understanding in Brunei Darussalam communities. These ties are the key to the nation’s well-being which will in turn convince the rakyat and residents that development is implemented and the country’s prosperity guaranteed. Therefore, such an honourable effort should be supported and made as an example by the other communities that make up the nation’s rakyat and residents.
Also present was the Senior Assistant of the Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Seri Wijaya Pengiran Haji Ahmad bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Yusof and the Assistant of the Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara, Pengiran Doctor Hidop bin Pengiran Haji Samsuddin. The two-day workshop, attended by more than 60 participants, was jointly organised by the Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara and Chung Hwa Middle School.
