Betawi Culture Festival to Celebrate Jakarta’s Anniversary
Jakarta, Indonesia - The WestJakartaAdministrativeMunicipality will organize a Betawi Culture Festival to celebrate the 483rd Anniversary of Jakarta city, said chief of Cultural Office, I Nyoman Wedhana, contacted today.
The event, to be held on Saturday (26/6) at SrengsengCityForest, Kembangan, West Jakarta, will be officially opened by Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo.
Betawi culture will be performed at the festival, such as ondel-ondel, gambang kromong, lenong, tanjidor, and samrah. The festival will also feature the Betawi Band, dangdut music, Betawi artists, as well as Betawi cooking festival, Betawi traditional sports, and a fishing competition.
The festival which will begin at 14.00 pm is a perfect place for the Jakarta residents to spend the weekend together with their families.
