Cooperation between BKPBM and MABMKB Finds a Bright View
Pontianak, MelayuOnline.com- Cooperation agreement between the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture (BKPM) and Malay Adat and Cultural Assembly of West Kalimantan (MABMKB) found a bright view. The talk between those institutions was arranged on Saturday (19/7/2008) at Malay Traditional House of West Kalimantan – the office building of MABMKB.
The participation of BKPBM at the festival and seminar on West Kalimantan Malay Culture aimed to maintain harmonious relations with MABMKB. West Kalimantan Malay Cultural Festival (FBMKB) will be available during July 21 – 24, 2008 in Sanggau District, Pontianak City.
The crews‘ arrival at the office building of MABMKB was welcomed cordially by Haji Abang Taha – the Head of MABMKB, Drs. Haji Rusman Namsuri – General Secretary of MABMKB, Raden Haji Farid Mohsin Panjianum, S.H. – the Head of West Kalimantan Adat Priest. In the beginning of the meeting between BKPBM and MABMKB, Imien Taha remarked, “We would like to thank BKPBM for informing the public about this festival.”
“West Kalimantan Malay Cultural Festival this year takes place upon the support from West Kalimantan Provincial Government. West Kalimantan Provincial Government greatly encourages such event to be hold annually in every district in West Kalimantan Province. Hopefully, such event can be a medium to preserve Malay cultural heritages in West Kalimantan generally, and Malay or Dayak tribes settling the west of Borneo Island, specifically,” Imien Taha said.
Though the committee has received much help from West Kalimantan Provincial Government, there are still many obstacles that appear. “We do this festival as far as what we can do. But, it will be better if BKPBM would like to work along with us,” Imien Taha added.
Responding Imien Taha‘s remark, Mahyudin delivered the purposes of BKPBM‘s participation in the festival. “The second visit of BKPBM to West Kalimantan is not merely aimed at participating passively at this festival. We want to maintain harmonious relations with all institutions concerning with the development of Malay culture. Likewise, we seek to collect Malay cultural wealth in West Kalimantan and publish them on the internet so that people from all over the world can know the existence of Malay culture in West Kalimantan,” Mahyudin remarked.
BKPBM‘s programme to document West Kalimantan Malay historical and cultural heritages involves Aam Ito Tistomo – a famous photographer from Yogyakarta – within. Aam – his nickname – engaged into BKPBM‘s crews for the demand of Mahyudin Al Mudra to immortalize some great events and wonderful sites in West Kalimantan. Further, Aam involvement here was also designed to develop tourism potencies in West Kalimantan Province by publishing those potencies through the internet. Consequently, this short visit to West Kalimantan should be effectively optimized by the crews.
While tasting some delicious foods, BKPBM and MABMKB discussed several sectors that may be included into the cooperation agreement between those institutions. Both institutions have similar mission statements to document tourism potencies and Malay cultural and historical heritages in West Kalimantan.
