MelayuOnline.com’s Second Anniversary: The Launch of CeritaRakyatNusantara.com
Yogyakarta, MelayuOnline.com - Once more, Balai Kajian dan Pengembangan Budaya Melayu-BKPBM (the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture) launched a new cyber portal namely CeritaRakyatNusantara.com on Tuesday (20/01). The launching itself was part of the celebration of MelayuOnline.com`s Second Anniversary that was centered at Taman Budaya Yogyakarta Building, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
CeritaRakyatNusantara.com, as well as MelayuOnline.com, MalayTourism.com, and RajaAliHaji.com, is the materialization of BKPBM`s hard works in documenting and publishing a number of folklores scattered over the Indonesian Archipelago.
According to Mahyudin Al Mudra, the founder and director of CeritaRakyatNusantara.com, the portal was born from an awareness of the lack of efforts in appreciating and preserving oral tradition, especially folklore.
“That portal is aimed at helping ease the public so that they can access and read numerous folklores from the entire parts of Indonesia,” Mahyudin said.
The launching was officially signed with a “Beat The Gong” section by Prof. Dr. Heddy Shri Ahimsa-Putra, MelayuOnline.com`s consultant.
In his speech he said, “We won`t only gain educating entertainment from reading folklore, but likewise, it is a gate to experience the atmosphere of ancient living that might inspire every single person reading it.”
“Nusanatara” was chosen upon consideration that the word has a close relation with a glorious age that might be able to inspire everyone in the present.
“Not only does the word hear melodious, but there is a hope that reading folklore could inspire the modern people because the word is often associated to the glory of cultural civilization in the past,” he added.
