MelayuOnline.com`s Second Anniversary:
MelayuOnline Names “2009 MelayuOnline Awards” Receivers

Yogyakarta, MelayuOnline.com - 12 figures and an institution will be receiving the “2009 MelayuOnline Award” at the celebration of MelayuOnline.com`s Second Anniversary, which is to be centered at Taman Budaya Yogyakarta Building on Tuesday (20/01).

In appreciation to those who have dedicated to and concerned on efforts to preserve Malay culture, Balai Kajian dan Pengembangan Budaya Melayu-BKPBM (the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture) plans for holding such an awarding ceremony annually.

“2009 Awarding Ceremony will be presented in gratitude for all achievements reached by MelayuOnline.com during two past two years. As well, that is our appreciation to some people who have contributed greatly to the Malay world,” Mahyudin Al Mudra, the head of BKPBM, said.

2009 MelayuOnline Awards will be presented to:

• Dr. (HC) H. Tenas Effendy, a leading figure in the development of Malay local wisdom
• Prof. Dr. Ding Choo Ming, a reasearcher who have dedicated himslef to the study of Malay pantun
• YM. Tuanku H. Tengku Luckman Sinar Basarshah II, SH., a historian in the Malay world
• Dra. Hj. Septina Primawati Rusli, MM., a Malay cultural activist
• H. Abang Imien Thaha, a adat figure who ceaselessly endeavours for the Borneo-Malay
• Sutardji Colzoum Bachri, a Malay Man of Letters
• Dra. Hj. Suryatati A. Manan, Tanjungpinang Mayor who cares about the development of Malay culture
• Bapak Sulaiman, a Malay musician from Riau Islands Province
• Dra. Hj. Aida Zulaikha Nasution, SE. MM., a Malay poet
• Dr. Pudentia, MPSS., M.Hum., a leading figure in the preservation of oral tradition
• Drs. Suryadi, MA., a researcher working on ancient Malay manuscripts
• SP (Seniman Perdana) Rida K. Liamsi., a leading figure in the Malay civil-oriented economy
• Harian Kompas, a printed media that cares of Malay cultural heritages
