MelayuOnline.com Calls For Your Participation To Preserve And Develop Malay Cultural Heritage

Yogyakarta, MelayuOnline.com- The history of Malay cultural civilization has spanned the length of time and space. During that length of time, Malay civilization has suffered from the rise and fall, but currently, its existence has gradually faded out following the inexorable wave of globalization. Such a fact then of course prompts serious worry that Malay cultural heritage would someday disappear from the world.

Realizing the above threat, Balai Kajian dan Pengembangan Budaya Melayu-BKPBM (the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture) was established in Yogyakarta, dated on 1 Muharram 1428 H, or timed precisely with January 20^th, 2007. Since that time, BKPBM has endeavored to preserve, develop, and perpetuate Malay cultural heritage, either those that still exist or those that have ever existed in the Malay Archipelago.

All the documentations are stored in a huge storage called MelayuOnline.com. In the other words, MelayuOnline.com is the database of all the information about the Malay world collected through either literary studies or field researches. Then, that huge documentation is published in neatly structural menus, as on MelayuOnline.com, based on a very tight and strict theoretical framework, and therefore can be proven academically. With such a systemic menu classification, it is hopefully all people could easily learn the Malay world from the website.

So far, MelayuOnline.com has been a personally-funded website because basically, the website is a non-profit and non-governmental website. Neither grant nor loan has MelayuOnline.com received to underpin the continuation of such cultural works. However, time keeps running and the more responsibilities must be shouldered by MelayuOnline.com.
