Brunei, Malaysia Stand To Gain From Leadership Development Programme

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia stand to gain from cooperative leadership development projects that will result in improving the image and the quality of public service for both nations.

Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister`s Office Haji Mahmud Haji Mohd Daud highlighted this yesterday morning during the opening ceremony of the Leadership Development Programme, jointly organised by the Civil Service Institute (CSI) Brunei and National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) Malaysia.

The two-week programme will see 13 participants from Brunei joining forces with 13 from Malaysia to share ideas and information on leadership styles targeted at the middle management level.

"With this programme, we are able to create responsible leaders who are obliged to bring innovation and creativity to the individual organisations," said Haji Mahmud in his opening speech.

"It also gives us a chance to establish effective networking relations between (Brunei and Malaysia) and carry out tasks as -a team."

After the first week of discussions comes to a close, the 13 participants from Brunei will visit the INTAN in Malaysia to continue sharing ideas and information there, pointed out a Course Coordinator for the two-week programme.
