Thai delegation visits IPB to explore possibility of cooperation
Bogor - A delegation from Thailand‘s Prince Songkla University (PSU) visited the Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB) here Tuesday to explore the possibility of cooperation in the sectors of agriculture, agro-industry and halal food industry with IPB.
The PSU delegation, consisting of academicians, researchers and scientists, was upon arrival at the IPB received by IPB Deputy Rector Prof Dr Yonny Koesmaryono.
Another IPB deputy rector, Dr Ir Anas Miftah Fauzi, quoted the Thai delegation‘s spokesperson, Prof Chatchai Ratanachai, as saying there were many similarities in Indonesia‘s and Thailand‘s natural resources, especially in agriculture, so that it was hoped the two sides (PSU and IPB) could at their first meeting explore the particular areas in which they each excelled.
The Thai delegation also visited the South East Asia Food Agricultural Science And Technology (SEAFAST) Center hosted by IPB.
Anas said the purpose of the PSU delegation‘s visit was to explore the possibility of establishing cooperation with IPB in the fields of agriculture, agro-industry and halal food industry.
The PSU delegation was made up of Dean of Post-Graduate Program Prof Krerkchai Thongnoo; Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Prof Paktra Kooburat; Prof Chutima Tantikitti, associate dean for academic and graduate studies, Faculty of Natural Resaources, Prof Charun Bunyakan, associate dean for research and graduate studies, Faculty of Engineering, Dr Vorasan Sobhon, vice dean for international affairs, Faculty of Agro-industry, Salma Kosumphant, acting head of international affairs , and Peewara Noo-urai, international affairs officer.
