BKPBM Maintains Harmonious Relations with West Kalimantan
Pontianak, MelayuOnline.com- On Saturday (19/07/2008) morning, several crews of the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture (BKPBM) departed from Yogyakarta to Sanggau District, West Kalimantan Province to take part at the West Kalimantan Malay Cultural Festival (FBMKB) which takes place during July 21 – 24, 2008.
The Head of MelayuOnline.com, Mahyudin Al Mudra, came along the crews as the speaker on Malay dress code session at that festival. Besides, the participation of MelayuOnline.com‘s crews was also aimed at introducing the public about the existence of BKPBM‘s cyber portals namely MelayuOnline.com, MalayTourism.com, and RajaAliHaji.com. To some extent, the crews likewise will attempt to set cooperation with other institutions such as governmental institutions, non-governmental institutions, and local Malay cultural research centres.
At 5 a.m., the crews gathered in Balai Melayu – the office building of MelayuOnline.com – waiting for a car that would bring them to Adi Sucipto airport. At 5.25 a.m. the crews left Balai Melayu to reach the airport. At the airport, Aam Ito Tistomo – a famous photographer who was included into the entourage to immortalize the cultural journey of MelayuOnline.com‘s crews by photography – waited for the crews alone.
Since then, Mahyudin Al Mudra and Yuhastina Sinaro came to the airport with different car from the other crews who had reached the airport first. Before departure, Mahyudin advised, “Enjoy this journey, never get headache either when we have flight or land trip. When you get headache, just take some aspirins.”
A day before leaving Yogyakarta, Mahyudin gave three passports to Ahmad Salehudin, Khidir Marsanto, and Lukman Solihin. While giving those passports, Mahyudin reminded them that now, they are the member of “international society,” as BKPBM is an international institution aiming at reviving Malay civilization in the world.
At 7.15 a.m., the plane carrying the crews took off from Adi Sucipto airport to Soekarno-Hatta airport in Jakarta for a transit. Around 9.55 a.m., the plane flew to Pontianak spending an hour flight. In approximately an hour flight, the plane arrived at Supadio airport in Pontianak City, at 10.55 a.m.
In Supadio airport, two cars of Majelis Adat Budaya Melayu Kalimantan Barat-MABMKB (Malay Adat and Cultural Assembly of West Kalimantan) waited for the crews. From Supadio airport the crews were brought to MABMKB‘s office building.
In MABMKB‘s office, various Malay foods were dished up for the crews before discussing several points that will be included into cooperation agreement between BKPBM and MABMKB. According to the festival‘s rundown, there will be MoU signing between BKPBM and MABMKB at the opening ceremony of the festival.
