Malay Culture

Nasi Minyak

Ingredients :

  • 1 kg rice
  • ˝ cup milk
  • 4 cup milk
  • 2 spoons ghee 
  • 1 spoon oil

Seasonings :

  • 1 spoon curry powder
  • 3 cloves shallot
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Ginger
  • Cardamom
  • Liquorice
  • Clove  

Directions :

  1. Grind all the seasonings
  2. In a saucepan, sauté the ground seasonings with the ghee, add some water, and simmer for several minutes
  3. Pour the milk, put the rice, until the water dried.
  4. Transfer the rice to large metal for steaming until cooked through
  5. Serve the cooked rice on a plate with the raisin, tojin pulse, fried onion, and fried slices of chicken liver
