Folk theater is a performing art that usually expresses and describes the life within a certain society. This art is performed as a dance, song, drama, etc held at a certain time and place in order to articulate the sense of beauty, entertainment, emotion, anxiety that could not be said obviously through words. Therefore, the folk theater becomes a mediator by which the people release their emotion. This performing art always takes a simple form and spontaneity, and in many cases it unifies with daily life activities. In the performance of randai (danced performed by a group of people standing in a circle, singing and clapping hands), for example, the strong relation occurred between the players and spectators. Even, in many cases, one of spectators joins to give speech during the performance. The strong emotional relation between the players and the spectators makes the message encompassed within the performance could be easily understood and accepted. The story of the performance is often taken from the stories of model and heroism of ancestors that are modified to be appropriated with the context of time and place where the art is performed.
