As previously mentioned in the introduction to homeland of Malay language, the form of first Malay language is understood from hypotheses. Even Rohaedi (2007) clearly stated in his article that Malay language is bahasa duga (assumed language)

In general, the linguists do not put too much focus on the characteristic of Malay language as the hypotheses language or assumed language. They problematize to what extent the validity of data on which the hypotheses was built, and the methodology by which the hypotheses analyze the date. These problems will influence-more or less- on the reliability of the hypotheses. (SR/bhs/09/07-07)
